An Update from the president…

Welcome to the Kingsbridge Probus Club website! Here you will find information about our club and its activities, as well as an open invitation to attend any of our monthly talks to give us a try free of charge.

Since I wrote a note for this introduction earlier this year, we emerged from lockdown in the summer only to face a return to what is being styled “Lockdown 2” later this week. For our club, the Rule of Six put paid to plans we made for a return to our meetings in September – and hence we were obliged to cancel our talks for the balance of 2020. We maintain a watching brief on COVID-19 regulations and requirements.

Our meetings and social activities are the raison d’être for the club, so the current circumstances have seen us in a prolonged period of stasis, but we – in common with many community groups – remain confident that we shall return to our previous levels of engagement and activity in the future.

About us

PROBUS is a local, national, and international association of retired people who come together in non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit, autonomous clubs which provide regular opportunities for members to meet others in similar circumstances, with similar levels of interest, make new friends, and maintain and expand their interests.

At the Kingsbridge Probus Club we hold monthly meetings at the Mill Club, Kingsbridge where we enjoy an interesting talk and have lunch and/or a drink.

Our spouses/partners are invited to join us in the Spring, Autumn and Christmas for a good lunch at a restaurant or gastro-pub in the area.

We also arrange trips to nearby attractions of interest to members such as local museums, canal trip, naval dockyard, met office, etc.

Try us for no charge on the third Tuesday of the month at 10.30 a.m. at the Mill Club, Western Backway, Kingsbridge TQ7 1QB.
